David K. Soder, DDS
Dr. Soder graduated from Howard University College of Dentistry in 1983, and completed his Periodontal Residency in 1985 at the University of Missouri Kansas City and the Veterans Administration Medical Center. Following the completion of his training, he became an associate professor at Georgetown University Dental School. After several years of teaching and private practice in Washington DC, he decided to move to Oregon to be closer to family and has practiced in Roseburg, Oregon since 1988, specializing in Periodontics and placement of Dental Implants.
Dr. Soder has been surgically placing Dental Implants for over 20 years with a success rate over 99.9%. He has expertise in bone reconstruction and gingival augmentation/periodontal plastic surgical techniques in the treatment of periodontal disease.
Dr. Soder is an active member of the Umpqua Dental Society, the Oregon Dental Association, the American Dental Association, The Oregon Society of Periodontists, The Western Society of Periodontology, and The American Academy of Periodontology.
He grew up in Wichita, Kansas and graduated with honors from the University of Kansas, but after living for over 30 years in the Umpqua Valley of Southern Oregon, considers himself an Oregonian at heart.
Dr. Soder has traveled in the past Central America to provide dentistry to the poor in rural areas of Guatemala. This also gives him an opportunity to practice his Spanish and get to know better the wonderful people who live there.
In his free time he likes to spend time with his wife Anne and travel locally and abroad. They enjoy going on bicycling tours and seeing the countryside. He also is an avid skier and “enjoys a good walk-spoiled” on the golf course.
Dr Shashank Joshi completed Dental school in India in 2004. His interest in business and the desire to manage complex organizations, like a dental practice, lead Dr Joshi to pursue a Masters in Business Administration at Arizona State University. While working for a hospital based dental center in Chicago Dr Joshi met his wife, who is an orthodontist, they got married in 2015. Dr Joshi and his wife have a 14 month old daughter, Norah.
Dr Joshi completed his Periodontics Residency program at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in June, 2018. The Periodontics program at Maryland is one of the most respected programs in the country with a rich history of producing great clinicians over the years. It is the only program in the country which trains its residents in microsurgery.
Dr Joshi finished one year Fellowship in Implant Periodontal – Prosthodontic program at Univ. of Maryland. It is also the only program in the country that provides a unique experience in Prosthodontic aspect and Digital Implant dentistry. Dr Joshi was a finalist for the Richard J Lazzara Fellowship award in Advance Implant Surgery during this fellowship program.
Dr Joshi loves treating his patients as family and believes in forming lifelong relationships. He is compassionate in his care and is trained in the latest tools and technology in Periodontal and Implant dentistry. Dr Joshi’s goal is to improve the lives of his patients and the community he serves. He believes in giving back to the community and frequently engages in charity giving and volunteering at the local church he attends with his wife.
