David K. Soder, DDS

Dr. Soder graduated from Howard University College of Dentistry in 1983, and completed his Periodontal Residency in 1985 at the University of Missouri Kansas City and the Veterans Administration Medical Center. Following the completion of his training, he became an associate professor at Georgetown University Dental School. After several years of teaching and private practice in Washington DC, he decided to move to Oregon to be closer to family and has practiced in Roseburg, Oregon since 1988, specializing in Periodontics and placement of Dental Implants.

Dr. Soder has been surgically placing Dental Implants for over 20 years with a success rate over 99.9%. He has expertise in bone reconstruction and gingival augmentation/periodontal plastic surgical techniques in the treatment of periodontal disease.

Dr. Soder is an active member of the Umpqua Dental Society, the Oregon Dental Association, the American Dental Association, The Oregon Society of Periodontists, The Western Society of Periodontology, and The American Academy of Periodontology.

He grew up in Wichita, Kansas and graduated with honors from the University of Kansas, but after living for over 25 years in the Umpqua Valley of Southern Oregon, considers himself an Oregonian at heart.

Every year Dr. Soder travels with a mission to Central America to provide dentistry to the poor in rural areas of Guatemala. This also gives him an opportunity to practice his Spanish and get to know better the wonderful people who live there.

In his free time he likes to sail in the San Juan Islands or wherever there are fair winds and following seas. He also is an avid skier and “enjoys a good walk-spoiled” every time he is on the golf course, and plays tennis in the winter …
